Energy Audits

Energy Audit
We’ll help you SEE how you can SAVE:
Does this sound like your home?
- High energy bills can often be traced to air leaks, ineffective insulation, poor window performance and leaking or poorly insulated duct work.
- Drafty rooms are often caused by hidden air leaks at baseboards, windows, electric outlets or various penetrations in floors, walls or ceilings.
- Hot or cold areas of the house can be caused by a number of problems such as air infiltration, poor insulation and leaky duct work.
- Moisture on windows can be caused by poor performing windows, high interior humidity, or other sources.
- Dry indoor air in winter even when using humidifiers! This can be caused by air leaks allowing excess cold dry air into house envelope or allowing humidified air to escape.
Why would you want an energy audit?
With an energy audit by Energy Smart Home Improvement you’ll receive the most useful information on how you can lower your energy consumption, save money, and provide yourself with a more comfortable home. Everyone likes making an educated decision, and with our diagnostic tools we can help you make the best use of your money.
How we do it:
Cost savings analysis
Using advanced energy test equipment including blower doors and infrared cameras, we can analyze your energy usage and determine your losses due to air leakage and thermal transmission. The goal is to make your home more comfortable for less money. Once the characteristics of your energy usage are quantified, we can assist you in choosing the most cost effective ways to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient.

Blower door testing
By using a specially designed calibrated fan and diagnostic equipment, we are able to quantify how much air infiltration you are experiencing as well as pinpoint locations of air leaks.
IR imaging
By using an infrared imaging camera we are able to see exactly where air enters the building envelope, where insulation is insufficient, and where you can save energy. Infrared imaging can also reveal gaps in construction framing, mold, and water damage.
