Here’s what you can expect from an energy audit by Energy Smart

• Customer Interview – provides valuable information on the history of the home, including energy consumption trends, home comfort issues, and insulation levels
• Visual Inspection – preliminary investigation that includes the use of an infrared camera to assess insulation quality and potential moisture problems, as well as combustion gas detectors to test the safety of homes with combustion appliances (i.e., gas/oil furnaces and boilers)
• Depressurization Inspection – main investigation in which a blower door and infrared camera are used to assess air leakage sources and other problem areas
• Energy Modeling (Optional) – in-depth information about the home is used to generate a detailed analysis of energy consumption in the home, as well as solutions that will yield the greatest impact on energy efficiency
• Audit Review – sit-down consultation with homeowners in which the results of the energy audit are shared in detail, questions and concerns are addressed, and prioritized remediation solutions are discussed
